At our April 21st Executive Committee meeting I submitted the following resolution for adoption by the committee:
Whereas, we, as Members of the Huron County Republican Party applaud transparency and accountability in government and reject government secrecy involving monetary policy that impacts the entire economy; and
Whereas, serious discussions of proposals to oversee and audit the Federal Reserve are long overdue; and
Whereas, the Federal Reserve can enter into agreements with foreign governments and foreign central banks and the United States Congress is prohibited from overseeing these agreements; and
Whereas, we, as Members of the Huron County Republican Party, believe agreements made by the Federal Reserve with foreign powers and foreign banking institutions should be subject to Congressional oversight; and
Whereas, the United States Constitution, gives the United States Congress the authority to coin Money and regulate the value thereof and does not give Congress the authority to delegate control over monetary policy to a central bank; and
Whereas, auditing the Federal Reserve will allow Congress to assert its constitutional authority over monetary policy and help to protect the value of the United States dollar;
Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Members of the Huron County Republican Party, in defense of the United States Constitution, STRONGLY URGE the representatives of the 111th United States Congress to support the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 (HR 1207).
At our April meeting it was tabled because of a couple of objections by some members and until Representative Candice Miller's office could be contacted.
It was at our May meeting that our committee secretary Tom Holdwick announced that Representative Miller would co-sponsor the Bill. After a final reading of the resolution and arguments in support of it by Kurtis Bottke (the operator of this website) the resolution passed by unanimous voice acclimation.
Following is a press release Representative Miller gave supporting HR 1207 the Audit the Fed Bill:
REP. MILLER COSPONSORS BILL TO AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Candice Miller today signed on to H.R. 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, which orders an audit of the Federal Reserve System and Federal Reserve banks. The measure directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct the review and issue a detailed report to Congress by the end of next year. Miller stated that the bill will provide much needed and overdue constitutional checks to the country’s banking system.
"The current domestic and global economic situation is evidence that more congressional oversight of the Federal Reserve System and its banks is a must," said Miller. "Individuals and families are struggling, jobs are being cut by the tens of thousands, and people who have played by the rules are hurting. Americans deserve a full financial accounting from their government, and this bill will help ensure that they get it."
The Federal Reserve, a quasi-government agency, has been criticized by some as not being sufficiently transparent to the American public. With the ability to regulate banks, set interest rates, buy and sell government securities, and order money printed, the Federal Reserve has broad powers over the financial health of the country. In light of recent failures in the U.S. banking system and the government bailouts of large Wall Street banks, Miller said it is time to bring the same oversight to the Fed that other federal agencies are subject to.
"The lack of proper oversight of the Fed and the US banking system, in the long run, ended up costing the American taxpayer billions of dollars as they rescued some of our country’s largest financial firms," said Miller. "This audit will be a first step to ensuring that the mistakes of the past are not repeated, and will hopefully put our country on firmer financial ground."
I think my strategy of working from the inside is paying off, although a couple requests I made were not followed through on. I asked the Chairman of the committee Bob Hogen to email everyone on our email list of the successful passage of the resolution and this was not done. Neither was a press release done to the local media. The leadership of the Republican Party will do everything in it's effort to block inroads made by the rank and file that go against the establishment and threaten their control.

Rising From The Dead
After a six month hiatus I'm back posting. I stopped for a couple reasons. I wasn't reaching the numbers of readers I hoped for and a feeling that what I was doing was too little too late. But to paraphrase what someone once said "In order for evil to triumph, all it takes is for good people to do nothing". This is one good person that will take that simple statement to heart from now on.
This country is spiraling out of control economically, individual rights are considered transient and disposable and our foreign policy is still dictated by "Our way or the highway!".
I'll try to include more local news from a Free Market and Constitutional perspective. Watch out Huron County you're being watched. And I'm not here to make or keep friends but dispense the truth wherever that leads.
In full disclosure I am a Huron County GOP Precinct Delegate and a member of the Huron County GOP Executive Committee. Although I have no real allegiances with the Republicans. I just feel reforming them from the inside to a more Libertarian and Pro Freedom orientation would be a lot more effective than throwing rocks from the outside. I am also a member of the Campaign For Liberty and their Huron County Coordinator. To learn more about them go here.
I will be posing as often as my time and energies allow. Please check back often.

A Voice In The Wilderness
The government is spending trillions and trillions of dollars on stimuluses and bailouts yet there is no talk of the effect this will have on the value of the dollar. The bureaucrats and politicians involved are oblivious to the fact that all this spending will destroy the currency. In which case they shouldn't be in charge. Or worse, they know the effect of what they are doing, yet do it anyway. Which is criminal. We are in the process right now of destroying our financial system and our freedoms. Out of work and hungry people do not care about freedoms and liberties.
Let me take a moment to explain where the government gets all these trillions that it throws around with abandon. First it borrows very little from China or other countries. That's a distraction. If the government needs a quick trillion it creates a trillion dollars in bonds and sells them to the Fed. The Fed creates a trillion dollars to buy them with. A trillion dollars that previously didn't exist. The Fed has authority to create as much money as it or the government feels it needs. No upper limit! Trillions and trillions of new money added to the trillions already out there. This will lead to massive inflation to the point where the dollar will eventually become worthless. By doing all this spending we are inflating the last and biggest bubble of all. The dollar bubble. And when it bursts it will be like the Great Depression, only the little money people have will have been hyper inflated to the point of worthlessness and people will be reduced to using a system of barter. This is why it's so important for people to get involved with those organizations on my website and speak out before it's too late!

Telling The Truth Gets Ridiculed & Laughed At
Peter Schiff an Austrian Economist practically gets laughed off the set when he warns years ago about our current crisis. The idiots laughing at and debating him are still considered "financial experts" at CNN & FOX.
